Dr Xenoulis is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Thessaly and an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University. He received his Dr.med.vet. degree from the Ludwig-Maximilian Universitat in Munich, Germany in recognition of his research on hyperlipidemia in dogs. He also received a PhD degree from Texas A&M University, focusing on the association between hyperlipidemia and pancreatitis in dogs. He was awarded both college-level and university-level awards for his contributions as a PhD student at Texas A&M University. He completed a residency of the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN) at the Freie Universität in Berlin, Germany. His clinical and research interests include gastrointestinal disorders in dogs and cats and especially pancreatitis and chronic enteropathies, as well as clinical nutrition, hyperlipidemia and intestinal microbiota. He has been included in the top 1% of scientists globally according to the Composite Citation Index. He has authored or co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journal publications and 30 book chapters and has presented more than 70 abstracts and invited lectures in national and international conferences.
