Call for Abstracts

The International Society for Animal Clinical Pathology invites you to our upcoming ISACP Conference 2024! We strongly encourage all to participate by submitting an abstract for oral or poster presentation.

This is a fantastic chance to share your enthusiasm, knowledge, and expertise with your peers and contribute to the progress of the field. If you are a trainee/post-graduate/ phD student/resident in clinical pathology, take this invaluable opportunity to present your findings in front of an expert audience! We eagerly await your submissions and can’t wait to see you in the stunning city of Heraklion, Greece!

Abstracts related – but not limited – to the conference’s main topics that advance the state of the field of clinical pathology will be considered for presentation.

Remember to mark your calendar for the Key Dates of the conference:

15 September 2023 Abstract Submission Opens

15 January 2024 5 Feburary 2024 (extended) Abstract Submission Deadline

20 January 2024 All the submissions are referred to the ISCAP Scientific Committee for review and selection of the approved abstract presentations.

16 February 2024 Abstract Notification

30 April 2024 Presenters should provide Secretariat with PowerPoint presentation for administrative purposes.

Before you submit your abstract, take time to carefully read the following Guidelines for Submission.

Guidelines for Submission

  • The presenting author should be registered for the ISACP Conference before 29 February 2024 and present the abstract in person.
  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission, before submitting the abstract.
  • The same person may submit up to 5 abstracts regardless of presenting author.
  • The same person may serve as the presenting author on up to 5 abstracts.
  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English.
  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only. Abstracts submitted by email will not be accepted.
  • Submitted abstracts should provide a brief description of up to 250 words (excluding the title)
  • Abstracts must be original and must not have been published or presented at any other meeting prior to this Congress.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Abstract submitters will be required to disclose any conflict of interest in the submission form.
  • All research presented must comply with international standards pertaining to animal welfare, ethics, and data protection.
  • The deadline for abstract submission is  15 January 2024 5 Feburary 2024 (extended). Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.

Abstract Submission

Before you begin your submission, please prepare the following information:

  • Presenting author’s contact details:
  • Full first and family name(s)
  • Email address
  • Affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
  • Phone number
  • Author and co-authors’ details
  • Preferred Presentation type: oral or poster
  • Abstract title – must be in UPPER CASE and limited to 25 words. Please submit symbols as words.
  • Abstract topic – select the abstract topic per the list of topics. Abstract text - limited to 250 words including acknowledgments.

Always remember to follow the Formatting specifications: 

  • Abstract template is available at the end of the page
  • During the submission process, all authors will be asked to upload a ready for publication file as well. Images and tables can be included in this file.
  • Images – The maximum pixel size of the graph/image is 600(w) x 800(h) pixels. You may insert images in JPG, GIF, or PNG format.

 Make sure your abstract states the following:

  • Introduction
  • Objectives
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Some General advice on abstract format:  

  • Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears.
  • Use generic names of drugs. The presentation must be balanced and contain no commercial promotional content.
  • Submissions may not contain patient names, hospital ID numbers, or other identifying information.

Some General advice on the abstract submission:  

  • The submission form allows you to store your abstract as a DRAFT until the deadline. After the deadline, if not submitted, drafts will be deleted.
  • Click on the SUBMIT button at the end of the process to submit your abstract. You can make changes to your submitted abstract by the deadline. After the submission deadline abstracts cannot be modified or corrected.
  • You will receive an abstract ID number via email after you have submitted your abstract. Please refer to this abstract number in all correspondence regarding the abstract.
  • Please contact us if you have not received confirmation that your abstract has been submitted.
  • Please do not submit multiple copies of the same abstract.

Evaluation and Acceptance of the submitted abstract.

  • Once the abstracts have been received, they will be evaluated by members of the ISCAP Scientific Committee according to:
    • Scientific value or potential clinical value to veterinary pathology
    • Originality of work
    • Standard of submission & clarity of abstract
    • Overall impression
  • All presenting authors will receive a notification by email of whether their abstracts were accepted from 26 February 2024. Please ensure that the author’s email address is correct to receive the email notification promptly.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the 2024 Congress Handbook which is distributed to all delegates.
