Dr Katsafadou holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine, a MSc and a PhD from the Proteomics Research Unit of the Academy of Athens and the University of Thessaly. After completing her PhD, she continued as postdoctoral researcher in animal proteomics, while working in animal health industry and thereafter at the Hellenic Organization for Medicines. Currently, she works as assistant professor at the University of Thessaly. Her research interests refer to One Health and application of proteomic and metaproteomic methodologies with interdisciplinary approaches. She is a member of the Executive Board of the Hellenic Proteomics Society, a member of the Educational Committee of European Proteomics Association and secretary of European ECRs in Proteomics. She has published over 40 articles in scientific journals and has made many presentations at national and international conferences several of which by invitation. She has participated in many research programs and currently she supervises two PhD students.
